Certified Staff Benefits

Your Health

Dental Insurance

Plan Configuration

Dental insurance coverage is offered to eligible employees through Delta Dental. The individual annual maximum is $2,000 for the period July 1 through June 30. Most common services are covered at 100% and do not have a deductible.

Enhanced Benefit

Routine checkup’s do not count towards the annual maximum.

Eligibility

Certified staff considered 0.75 FTE or greater are eligible.

Cost

WUSD pays 100% of the dental insurance cost.

Health Insurance

Options

WUSD offers eligible employees the choice of single or family coverage from Dean Health Plan or MercyCare Health Plans.

Plan Configuration

Both plans are high-deductible health plans. The deductible is $3,000 for single coverage and $6,000 for family coverage (capped at $3,000 per individual). All eligible medical costs count towards the deductible first. The plan year runs July 1 through the following June 30.

Deductible Assistance

WUSD contributes half of the deductible ($1,500 for single and $3,000 for family) to a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) in quarterly installments. These funds can be used for deductible purposes and prescription costs.

Typically, HRA funds are “use-it-or-lose-it” whereby anything not spent at the end of the plan year reverts to the employer. The WUSD HRA funds are vested to the employee and the employee keeps unspent funds (i.e. “use-it-or-keep-it”).

Eligibility

Certified staff considered 0.75 FTE or greater are eligible.
